Please fill in the box:
What do you feel was the biggest factor in your decision to hire us when comparing to other companies (price, advertising, song list)? Do you recall any other DJ services you considered?
I was planning from Fargo-Moorhead, so I didn't have a lot of opportunity to scout out DJs in person. I pretty much got a price quote from Bellagala, since "TheKnot" spammed my email box with offers from them. Jennifer, our reception coordinator suggested Instant Request, so we did a price quote from them. Bellagala would have been cheaper-but Ken was worried that we would get a "wedding DJ" of epic lame proportions. The way Bellagala presented itself it was just a hub of "use all of our services so we make more money" and I was wary that we would be overlooked in all of their money grabbing. Instant Request was just plain more expensive. And you guys had Ashley, our consultant at Simply Elegant Bridal Consulting, in your corner. I quote from the email she sent me when I said we had chosen you guys, "They are honestly the BEST DJ in the city... Such a great vendor." So ultimately even though we didn't spring for the amazing 699 unlimited whatever promotion from Bellagala, we were happy to go with you guys because we trusted Ashley's praise was sound.
What was your overall wedding budget excluding honeymoon and rings?
$10,000
If you did not use us for invitations, programs, gifts, or dance instruction can you tell us what affected your decision and/or what we can offer that would have been more attractive to you?
Invitations- SEBC helped us with those. Programs- made myself. Gifts- Our bridal party was two people, easy to find unique things on our own. Dance instruction- Lived too far away. We would have totally made a trip back for free dance lessons, though. ^_-
If you did use us for any of our additional services can you tell us what your motivating factor was and if you were pleased with the service?
If you could do it over, what would you say was a "do" or "don't" in hiring vendors or planning the day? May we share your answers? Your full name will not be posted.
You may share our answers. We saw our cake for 5 minutes. I would not have spent so much on a cake. It was delicious though. I would make sure the cake is delicious but don't worry about fondanting it to death. A day of coordinator is KEY. We had some minor hiccups in our timeline that without a coordinator would have turned major. DO NOT RAVE in your pretty wedding ceremony shoes. Your feet will go numb and twinge for weeks after. Wear comfy shoes. If you go barefoot, your feet will be tarred black from dirt; you will still be a princess. Enlist the help of your family and friends when choosing dance music, pre-wedding. It is important because they are the ones who will join you on the dance floor. They will feel obligated to dance to all the songs they picked. Consider ending dancing at 10 pm. Why? Because that's what we did and it worked out fine. I think more people danced because there was an end in sight. (We had post-dancing board games and card games until 2 am.)

Just wanted to say, Troy did an EXCELLENT job at our reception. I heard every song I was hoping to hear. We had an amazing turn out on the dance floor. When we crowned our friend Pickle for being our match maker, Troy expertly handled the talking, despite it not being very well planned out at all. We had an awesome time raving and getting tarred feet. The "shoe game" happened. Basically Troy did everything we asked him to and more. High five.
