What do you feel was the biggest factor in your decision to hire us when comparing to other companies (price, advertising, song list)? Do you recall any other DJ services you considered?
I received rave reviews from former customers (Betz and Andrew Bentley) who used Krista for their wedding on May 25, 2014. We did not look at any other DJ services.
What was your overall wedding budget excluding honeymoon and rings?
An overall budget was not predetermined.
If you did not use us for invitations, programs, gifts, or dance instruction can you tell us what affected your decision and/or what we can offer that would have been more attractive to you?
We wanted to go with the most time- and cost-efficient option, so we pursued an online paper company.
If you did use us for any of our additional services can you tell us what your motivating factor was and if you were pleased with the service?
NA
If you could do it over, what would you say was a "do" or "don't" in hiring vendors or planning the day? May we share your answers? Your full name will not be posted.
I would say DO take the time to pick out as many songs as possible (we selected close to 100 songs to "Must Play" or "Play if Possible") and Krista stuck to our list very well. This made the dancing experience very personal and even more memorable because the songs that were played had special meaning for us and our friends. Also "DO" select a DJ that can "read the crowd" as well as Krista! She saw that I had a lot of Indian relatives on the dance floor, so she played some Bhangra, which was a HUGE hit. For my "DON'T", I would say don't expect that the acoustics in most venues will be adequate for everyone to hear clearly, regardless of what the venue coordinators tell you. We found that those in the back of the ballroom still had difficulty hearing even though the speakers tried to reach them. It was helpful that Krista coached the speakers on how to hold the microphone correctly, but all speakers stood in the front of the room, not the best location for everyone to hear. They should have stood in the middle of the room. This is obviously not the DJ's fault, but it goes to show that there are multiple factors that contribute to good acoustics. Regardless of the venue, all customers should do a trial run of the acoustics before the wedding to avoid having guests experience acoustical problems.

Your Comments and/or Suggestions
The only thing I would have liked to go a bit better was for the audience to actually hear all the announcements, particularly the one about the photo booth opening at 9pm. I think that this announcement wasn't heard by everyone (potentially due to people moving around during the break between toasts and dancing/photobooth) and as a result, on a subset of guests participated. This is not necessarily something that Krista could have done better, but in retrospect, I think we should have announced that the photobooth was opening at 9pm much earlier in the reception and then announced it AGAIN at 9pm.
